Writing Prompt Excercise — 100 Words

Five o’clock, quitting time for most. Like the song said, nine to five ain’t no way to make a living, but Johnny thought it must be better than working five to five. He needed to get on a day shift.

Because, he didn’t think the day shift got the crazies. Not the guy who showed up every full moon begging to be sedated, or the guy who was breaking into the fridge where they stored the blood. Johnny really needed to get away from them, because he’d caught that guy: cold-handed not red.

And for a moment, he’d honestly believed.
