Writing Prompt Excercise — 100 Words

They asked us for secrets, the good ones, the dark and deep ones, as we came in. Recording these hidden truths was the price for entering, for the chance to win a door prize.

We are lovers of stories; we paid. The time drew near, the draw held: two names, two secrets revealed, two prizes given.

I looked at the box, abandoned and forgotten in the centre of my table, and thought it dangerous to leave secrets unguarded in a room of writers.

My concerns were justified. The next morning, our remaining secrets were turned into poetry, and read aloud.
