Writing Prompt Excercise — 100 Words

He waited in the lobby, just as he had every afternoon for the past six months. People had stopped noticing his presence. He was as familiar as the pink and burgundy hotel carpet.

He arrived promptly at 4:15, and left promptly at 9:45. The man he watched was just as punctual, arriving at 4:30, leaving at 9:30. The woman the man met, not his wife, arrived before and left after, but she was not in the contract.

The target arrived at 4:30, the silenced shots fired at 4:31. The shooter, drawing no more attention than the familiar carpet, left early.
