Writing Prompt Excercise — 100 Words

The entrance was an old wrought-iron gate. It was decorated with metal leaves that turned the bars into twisting vines climbing from the lowest rung to the topmost arch. There was a large brass rose at the top, and in the middle of the gate, framing the lock, small brass faeries with delicate wings danced.

Here and there on the iron leaves were drops of silver dew, some forever threatening to drip down to the ground below. In the lower corners, on top of silver toadstools, were more faeries beckoned for any and all to enter the enchanted land beyond.
