Writing Prompt Excercise — 100 Words

I knew that no matter what, my parents would be okay, keep going. They had to, you know? If I wasn’t going to, and it was certain now that I wasn’t, then they did.

There was no way I could leave thinking that they might fall apart afterwards. No kid wants that, especially not one who could see that it was happening already.

They tried to hide it, fought away from the hospital room, but they never went far.

So I made them promise me, pinky swear. They did. So, I knew that no matter what, they would. They promised.
